Pozzotive Client Testimonials:

Pozzotive has now been proven in many commercial projects. It was recently accepted for use in a new building project at Harvard University, a success story that HBS Professor Shirley Lu and I documented in a new Harvard Business School case, Harvard University and Urban Mining Industries: Decarbonizing the Supply Chain.

Bob Kaplan, Senior Fellow and Professor, Emeritus, Harvard Business School

Pozzotive has become an economically viable solution across the Northeast and beyond. Innovative construction materials like Pozzotive, and climate champions like Lou, are critical elements of our lower carbon, circular future.

Julia Gisewite, Chief Sustainability Officer, Turner Construction Company

Rarely do we have an opportunity to specify materials that have such a profound impact on the reduction of Global Warming Potential without a premium in cost, impact to schedule or challenges with constructability. With Pozzotive® Ground Glass pozzolan, we were able to realize the enhanced sustainability of low embodied carbon concrete, without compromising in any other areas.

Michael Fortuna , AIA, Principal of TLB Architecture

Through numerous structural and infrastructure concrete pours with Pozzotive ground-glass pozzolan replacing 20-40% of the cement, Urban Mining’s material, supply logistics, applied concrete knowledge, and overall communication have been consistently top-notch. Glad to have this locally-sourced option for well-performing, lower embodied carbon concrete that is also facilitating regional glass recycling.

Amanda Kaminsky, Founder + Principal, Building Product Ecosystems LLC

Cement is the most polluting product in terms of CO2 on the planet, it is responsible for somewhere between 7% and 8% of the world’s CO2. If you could cut that by 30% worldwide, it would be enormous. It would be the single biggest move that anybody could make, anywhere.

Robert F. Fox, AIA, Partner Emeritus, CookFox Architects

I plan to use Pozzotive in every unit I manufacture. I am substituting about 30 percent of Portland cement with it, so I’m saving 30 percent carbon emissions, and that’s huge for me.

Award-Winning Pozzotive Pozzlan

For the past 17 years, BuildingGreen has selected ten green building products that significantly improve upon standard “business-as-usual” practices. These products reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, improve product life cycles, and have a net-positive impact on society and the environment. Pozzotive has now won this award twice!

Pozzotive also earned the United States EPA’s Environmental Quality Award in Region 2, the highest award given to the public by the USEPA.

Pozzotive was awarded the 2020 Environmental Sustainability Leadership Award, Private Sector, by the Northeast Recycling Council (NERC), a non-profit consortium of 11 states united for environmentally sustainable materials management.

Build With Strength, an initiative of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), awarded Pozzotive its 2023 Concrete Innovations Award for Innovative Products, recognizing its contribution toward improving the resilience, performance and sustainability of concrete. Pozzotive won this award again in 2024 for being a part of the newly-built New Canaan Library, a net-zero, sustainable building project in Connecticut.
